Grab A Pair of Hidden Blades

Assassins Creed: Syndicate brings players into a world of deception during the Victorian Era in history.

Assassins Creed 2 vs. Assassin's Creed Syndicate

The Assassin's Creed series spiralled downhill after people lost hope upon the release of Assassins Creed: 3. Yet, Ubisoft might have redeemed themselves with the latest release of the new generation game, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate.

Upon the release of Syndicate, many people who have gotten the game are impressed. Some people have even remarked that the game gives them nostalgia of Assassin's Creed: Unity. Assassin’s Creed 2, with a rating of 9.2/10 according to IGN, was ruled to be one of the best games in the series. The newest generation of the game, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate might have come closer than the other games of the series, with a rating of 8.2/10, according to IGN.

“Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’s story could have been done a lot better,” When asked to compare Assassin’s Creed 2 to Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, he said, “There is a big cultural difference, and Assassin’s Creed 2 definitely had more interesting, advanced weaponry,” junior Vinny O’Brien said.

Some of the features in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate have become more familiar to players with its combat mechanics, and consistent with the storylines based on historical time periods. The controls in Syndicate have been reported to be smooth, and a lot similar to Unity. There are also some new features in the game that make the entirety of the game more synchronized.

In terms of combat, it has become more interactive to realistic combat, which is a drastic change from Assassin’s Creed 2. For example, there is now the ability to break an enemy’s defense, when doing hand-to-hand combat. Now, while countering is still in the game as well as in Assassin’s Creed 2, there is also defense-breaking.

There are familiar features that bring back a sense of nostalgia, but there are also new features that have drawn players to a taste of something new.

An example of something added from Assassin’s Creed 2, in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, is that there is a broader capability for your character to free-run. In Assassin’s Creed 2, you were only able to free-run forward, in that one direction. It was introduced in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, of being able to free-run in more directions than one, such as downward.

So instead of taking a leap of faith off of a rooftop, or just jumping to lower ground, you’re now able to free-run downward and utilize nearby obstacles as a descent. There is also the reminisce of climbing scaffoldings, which is what the protagonist first learned in Assassin’s Creed 2 as Ezio Auditore.

Although, Assassin’s Creed 2 has been one of the highly favored games of the series, mainly for the rebellious assassin protagonist, Ezio Auditore, and the enthralling plotline, Assassin’ Creed: Syndicate has done well to impress the majority of the followers of the series, and it has a thing or two in common with the second one.
