Minecraft 1.11 review

The world is now forever changed with the new addition of “Exploration Update” in the release of Minecraft 1.11.

The first addition that was released in the update are the new hostile mobs, such as the Vex. The Vex has an ability to have a ranged fire attack, similar to the Nether world version of a Blaze. It can also apply effects on the player, such as slow, poison, blindness, and dizziness.

With the addition of Vex, new generated structures known as, Woodland mansions, are coming to 1.11. Mansions are tall wooden structures located around Plains and Forest biomes. Mansions have chests with loot inside, as well as the Vex, wool, and torches from the near-lit chandeliers.

Finally, a lot of bug fixes and patches have been applied. End portals are now easier to access, allowing the player not have to enderpearl through to change worlds. Curse enchantments have also been added. Curse of Unbinding forces a player to keep the armor on until they die or it breaks. Curse of Vanishing makes the armor disappear when the player dies.

“I like this new update. I feel as if with the mansions and everything being released, Minecraft may come back,” senior Jonathan Baffo said.
