Afterbirth Plus is finally released

With the release of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth +, players are anxious for the new items and potential that comes with it. Ever since the release of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth on October 30th, 2015, game developers, Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl, have dedicated a year to working on the new expansion for the original game. With the release of Afterbirth +, new rooms, items, characters, pickups, monsters, and much more have been added.

One new character added is Apollyon. Apollyon starts with two hearts and a new item, Void, which is a six room charge item that consumes items and pickups. Void is very unique in Afterbirth + since it has a variety of interactions with all items and pickups. When Void is used in a room with an item in it, Void consumes the item. However, if it is used on a pickup, the pickup vanishes and stats are added to the player.

New monsters are also added in Afterbirth +. One new boss, Delirium, is found in a new realm known as the Void (different than the item). It’s very unique since it is a very large chapter. It contains more than 100 rooms with nine boss rooms each depicting a specific existing chapter in the game.

“I enjoyed Isaac only because there are a lot of items and since there are more to choose from there are different synergies, but like the only thing that’s different in Afterbirth + compared to Afterbirth are just the items,” senior Nazeer Hashimi said.

With a variety of items and pickups to obtain, there is a lot to choose from in Afterbirth+. For a moment, this is the last expansion to the entire The Binding of Issac: Rebirth franchise.
