Konami Announces MGO Expansion

Metal Gear Online will be receiving a large scale expansion on March 15th, named the “Cloaked in Silence” expansion. The expansion includes three new maps, a free single player mission and a new playable character.

The three new maps takes settings from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, tweaked for the online multiplayer scene.

CORAL COMPLEX takes place on Mother Base, a varied environment offering tall vantage points, tight spaces for hiding and large open areas.

RUST PALACE, located in Afghanistan, is a multi floored building offering small amounts of cover, encouraging a more aggressive play style.

AZURE MOUNTAIN, set in Africa, is similar to RUST PALACE, in that it favors more aggressive action due to a lack of useable cover.

In addition, a new free to play game mode will be added on Thursday, April 7th called Survival. The objective is to survive missions with randomly selected maps and objectives, receiving rewards based on your performance. Those who have purchased Cloaked in Silence will be allowed an unlimited number of attempts per week and those who haven’t will only have 10 chances.

Another game mode titled Sabotage is also being implemented. The attacking team needs to destroy a missile being defended by the opposing team in order to win. The attacking team needs to hack into a series of terminals that protect the missile, while also being targeted by the defending team.

Finally, a new unique character will be available for players to use, Quiet. Boasting incredible speed, range, accuracy and the ability to cloak, she will certainly be a t

ough opponent.
