Microsoft has announced that PC gamers and Xbox One gamers will be able to play in the same game of Rocket League, like they did with the game Shadowrun on the Xbox 360.
Microsoft also hinted with this announcement, that they will allow PS4 owners to be able to play with Xbox One owners. This means that people will be able to play on different multiplayer networks, if the game developer would establish this feature in their game.
“The online crossover between consoles and PC is only so consoles can sell better. PCs are dominating the market right now and consoles are trying to stay relevant,” junior Tech crew member Jeremy Mossesson said.
“Playstation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002. We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play.” As Sony formally responded.
“It won’t completely unify the people, but it is the first step to stop the division between the people of the Xbox, Playstation and PC community. When an excited fan emailed Gabe Newell, he was all for it,” Tech crew member Jonathan Baffo said.
Microsoft did not only formally invite PSN, but has also opened it’s doors to any other platforms who want to have online collaborations. They are also looking to link up with Steam.
