The Star Forger

Aurelion Sol, the Star Forger, is the newest playable character to grace Summoner’s Rift. A space dragon who has been forced into servitude for millennia, he brings one of the most unique ability sets to the game.

His main source of damage are the stars that passively orbit his body. By positioning themselves well, a player can deal incredible damage with this ability.

The next skill is Starsurge, which fires a newborn star in a direction and will explode after getting too far from Aurelion, dealing damage and stunning enemy players.

His third ability, Celestial Expansion, pushes Aurelion’s stars outward, increasing their range, speed and damage dealt.

Following that is his ability Comet of Legend, which allows him to take flight in a direction, passing over all terrain and obstacles, however, if attacked by enemies, he will return to the ground. He also increases his movement speed when traveling in straight line.

His ultimate ability, Voice of Light, quickly fires a line aoe (Area of Effect) shot in a direction, dealing massive damage and pushing enemies back.

Aurelion Sol is classified as a mid-range mage, and his playstyle consists of remaining at a safe distance and using his stars to do damage and joining his teammates in fights with a constant amount of damage and using Voice of Light to finish off enemies.

His addition to the 150+ plus roster of League is certainly welcome, however, Aurelion’s addition to the game has been met with less than stellar reviews.

Many of the common complaints have been about his stars, the key to his entire kit. The stars have only two set positions that the player can swap between, and in many matchups, other players can position themselves away from the stars with ease, making him rather awkward to play effectively as he is now.

“Good idea, poorly executed,” junior Jonathan Baffo said.
