New Minecraft 1.9 Review

Minecraft 1.9, released on February 29th, was a huge update that changed the way players fought and roamed in the Minecraft Realm. This update will change sword and axe Player-vs-Player (PVP) fighting. There is also a new addition of shields and dual wielding in Minecraft 1.9.

New potions, in addition, have been added in Minecraft 1.9. A new lingering potion effect allows players to receive the potion effect in the surrounding area when it is thrown. Players can also receive these potions by getting “Dragon’s Breath”. They can do this by holding a potion near a dragon in The End.

Dual Wielding is another modification in the Minecraft world. It involves the main hand, which is the hand that players always used, and the off hand, which is the new hand that allows players to interact with the world. Players can have several combinations when it comes to interaction. For instance, players can put a torch on their off hand to place torches down by left-clicking. They can place blocks, put down lava, and even block with their shields in their off hand. Variations can include a torch and pickaxe, a shield and a sword, a shield and a bow, lava and cobblestone, and much more.

“I think since they added the Dual Wielding, people can be innovative and do a lot of interesting things with it. It lets us make our own setting with this new option and to be creative with it,” junior Jonathan Baffo said.

Previously, Minecraft had been dull it terms of mining performances and PVP fightings. After this release, people will be able to PVP fight and mine with ease.
