Become truly outrageous

Taric, formerly known as the Gem Knight, is known to most League of Legends players as one of the ugliest and most unplayed characters in the game.

However, the game developers at Riot Games have given him another chance to show how “truly outrageous” he is.

Now called the Shield of Valoran, Taric has an all new look and a set of abilities to tear apart the competition.

His passive ability, Bravado, causes his next two basic attacks to strike faster. He can also cast a spell to cause more damage, while reducing the cooldowns on the rest of his abilities.

His first ability, Starlights Touch, heals Taric and all close by allies. This ability stores charges over time. The ability will consume all held charges, healing for more if he has more charges.

The next ability, which is titled, Bastion, passively increases his armor stat. When it is activated, Taric links himself with an ally champion, causing the ally champion to also cast any ability that he casts. The ally champion and Taric will both cast the ability at the same time.

His third ability, Dazzle, causes Taric to shoot out a line of crystals after a brief delay that stuns any enemies.

Taric’s ultimate skill, Cosmic Radiance, grants Taric and all his allies close to complete immunity from from damage for a few seconds.

Combining his Bastion skill with Cosmic Radiance, and a stun on top of it makes Taric a formidable presence in teamfights. He can control the movement of the enemy team while protecting his allies.

A Taric rework has been demanded by fans for a long time. This could be the change that he needed to convince players to try him out once more after his release.

"I never really cared about Taric, but this new update looks really good. I might give him a chance" junior Maxwell smith said.
